Vienna joins the 12 capitals governed by liberals

This week NEOS has taken the office of Deputy Mayor following the local elections, with Christophe Wiederkehr.

Wiederkehr will be Vice-Mayor, in charge of education, youth, integration and transparency in Vienna’s first ever red-pink coalition, following on the local elections in mid-October. This will make Vienna the 13th capital government in the EU governed by liberals.

In the past Wiederkehr also participated to our Young Elected Local Liberal Leaders programme (in 2017). This YELL programme was created to provide an opportunity for young liberal democrat local and regional politicians to meet and share ideas and best practice amongst themselves, and afterwards to meet with experienced local and regional politicians in a joint meeting with Renew Europe.
